Social Networking- Facebook
In recent years, there has been a boom in social networking sites across the internet. Although many school districts dismiss social networking sites as a tool for procrastination and a distraction from school work, they can also be used in a number of helpful ways. One of the most prevalent social networking sites is facebook. Through the use of the group application, classrooms can continue outside the confines of the school. Updates about assignment changes can be posted, discussions about materials can take place, and questions can be fielded from students. In addition, students may be more apt to ask questions through this avenue, rather than more traditional e-mail or phone calls.
